My informant states as follows:
On the 28th ultimo I met Chung King Nan at Kowloon
at about 9 p.m. in his medicine shop, the 'Cheung Chun Tong'. He then took me to No.24 Lai Chi Yuen, which Sün Mei has rented from Chan Iu T'ing. I there saw Sun Mei, who is about 58, and several others whom I do not know. I gave two dollars to Chung King Nam, and he told me to go to the door in the open, where I was sworn in these words: Fan Ching, shat Mun Chau yan, po to shau
). I repeated this with my left hand raised to the level of my head.
This was at about 9.45 p.m. Chung King Nam said he would send the two dollare to Japan, and that I would have to be sworn again when the certificate arrived, and I would then get it and a book and a brass plate, and I would be required to sign my name. He told me that there were more than 10,000 adherents, and told me to keep it secret.
were He said that there many adherente in Government Offices, and that the Police Interpreter at Kowloon City station is one of them. The interpreter & Chung King Nam went to- gether and bought the coffin for the funeral of Sün Mei's mother, and the Interpreter wore crape on his left arm, und went as far as the first bridge only. Inspector McHardy saw him. It is believed that this Interpreter was the author of the letter of complaint againat P.S. Hau Hang being at the funeral to photograph ke skx the people.
